A new video featuring the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 concept has revealed new details about the long and wild coupe that debuted at Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach, Calif.
For starters, you don’t need to be in the driver’s seat to maneuver the Vision 6 concept because it features remote-control capability, as revealed in the video below posted by YouTube user Marchettino. Marchettino captured the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 concept at the closing of Monterey Car Week when the coupe was getting loaded into a covered transport truck. He noticed the Maybach moving without anyone in the driver’s seat and then saw a man with a remote control who appeared to be maneuvering the massive coupe from the side of the road. Marchettino observed the Maybach for hours into the night, until it was finally loaded into the truck.
The nighttime footage showcases the concept’s fancy exterior lights. Most notable are the LED accent lights that dominate the rocker panel, something that wasn’t obvious in the photos or our Facebook live video (also posted below) when the concept was indoors and stationary.
KONTAK PERKASA FUTURES – As previously reported, the all-electric concept features four motors, one at each wheel, for a total of 738 hp. The concept likely cuts back the horsepower in remote-control mode for safety reasons. The “6” in the concept’s name refers to its overall length (in meters), making it longer than the Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan. With the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman limo already in production, a new coupe similar to this concept would definitely add some drama to the Maybach lineup.
